Inclusive apprenticeships are designed to break down barriers and create employment opportunities for people with cognitive, physical, mental health and sensory disabilities. No person should be subject to discrimination or disadvantaged for having a Special Educational Need or Disability (SEND). Inclusive apprenticeships provide a supportive environment for learners to develop the skills and experience needed to achieve the qualifications they need to succeed in their chosen careers.
Inclusive apprenticeships provide an alternative and flexible approach to mainstream education, which is tailored towards the individuals chosen career path. They support the skills that employers value and help young people to develop them. One of the most effective to prepare young people with SEND for employment is work-based learning that enables them to have first hand experience of work.
This badge will identify at a glance the apprenticeships opportunities which welcome applicants with Special Educational Needs or Disability (SEND).
